Health Podcasts

June was recently invited to appear on Health Podcasts where she talked with presenter Jackie Morton about the services Orchard House Care Home offers and how the care home has evolved from a day care hub to a respite unit. Recorded during lockdown, June discusses COVID-19 and its impact on Orchard House and social care in general, and the importance of person-centred care and how the team at Orchard House ensures its residents and visitors are settled in and comfortable with their environment.

Orchard House is now a Care Home

Orchard House is now a Care Home

Our bespoke 6 bedded accomodation is the perfect place to give the person you care for a real holiday experience and you can be assured that all of our residents are treated like VIP’s with 1st class care and support.

A respite break is also an opportunity for carers to promote a positive life balance and have a much needed break from their caring role. Seeking support and looking after your own well being is an important part of an action plan to enable you to continue in your caring role. Choosing Orchard House for respite care can be the perfect antidote to carer burnout and a rewarding experience for you and the person you care for.

Keeping in touch throughout Corona Virus

Keeping in touch throughout Corona Virus

Hello to all our families and friends. We are all safe and well and hope it won’t be too long before we see you again. We thought you might enjoy seeing some photos of what we have been doing! From painting rainbows to creating a ‘wave wall’

Everytime we pass the wall the hands flutter in the breeze and look like they are waving. If you have not sent one yet you can post or email yours to us. A special thank you to Lindhead School children who sent a lot!

We really miss all our day care visitors #staysafe and take care of yourselves. You might find this information on taking care of your wellbeing useful:

Have you seen our new advertising board at Scalby Cricket and Football Club? ?

Orchard House has always been proud to support our local community and many of our visitors have strong links with local sporting clubs. Whether it’s cricket, football, bowls, rugby or tennis, we are fortunate to be at the centre of a sporting hub in Newby and Scalby.
We are very pleased to have forged links with Scalby Cricket & Football Club and are grateful to Daniel Gregory for working with us to introduce more local cricket history for our reminiscence sessions at Orchard House – we’re sure our visitors will love it.
So whatever your interests, why not organise a stay at Orchard House? We go the extra mile to promote activities to suit all interests!
