Providing innovative day care and respite care in Scarborough and Ryedale
Orchard House Care Home is a family-owned care home located in Scarborough, North Yorkshire that specialises in day care, respite care, and long-term care. We opened in 2007 as a specialist in day care provision in response to an unmet need in the local area.
As the day care hub flourished and we got to know our visitors’ families and carers, one thing became abundantly clear: there was a lack of good quality respite care available locally, and the people we were supporting and their families needed more than just a few hours’ respite per week. Subsequently in 2019, we proudly opened our six-bed residential home, which is integral to our day care service. Now at Orchard House, we can truly support people through a care journey that meets their needs for day care, respite care and long-term care.
A seamless approach
The choice and flexibility of our combined services enable our visitors to book day care visits or respite stays. This seamless approach means that we can really get to know our visitors and understand their needs and likes, so we can provide the highest standards of care and attention. We can also consider long-term residential care and make Orchard House a home-from-home for the person you support. With just six beds, you can rest assured that the person you care for is in good hands and being looked after like family!
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission as a residential care home for younger adults, people aged over 65, and for dementia care.
The Directors
June and David Stephenson have been working together in the care sector since 2003. David has extensive experience in the hospitality sector and in care home operation, and June has over 15 years’ management experience and more than 40 years’ nursing experience.
